L'Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy Press Release

It's January 1st, and so we are officially in the year that Ratatouille opens! And so, Disneyland Paris have released this press release (that is currently on every Disneyland Paris fansite out there).
-------------------------------------
The world of Ratatouille comes to Disneyland Paris in 2014
Next summer, Disneyland Paris will unveil a major new attraction and mini-land inspired by the Oscar-winning Disney•Pixar film Ratatouille. The film, directed by Brad Bird, tells the tale of Rémy, a young rat who has amazing talents in the kitchen and dreams of one day becoming a great chef. This leads to a fun but perilous journey that eventually lands him as the head chef of one of the most famous restaurants in Paris. Now Rémy has arrived at Walt Disney Studios Park to share his culinary delights and crazy adventures with the entire family.
On the attraction Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy*, guests will shrink down to the size of a rat and join Rémy and his friends as they scurry through the kitchen, dining room, and walls of Gusteau’s famous Parisian restaurant, all the while trying to avoid the nemesis from the film, Chef Skinner. This first of its kind Disney attraction will immerse guests into an animated world like never before as they experience what it’s like to be a rat in a human sized world.
The attraction is located in a new corner of Toon Studio that’s been transformed into a Ratatouille-inspired version of the City of Light. In addition to the attraction, this mini-land also features a shop, Chez Marianne Souvenirs de Paris**, and a rat-scale themed table service restaurant, Bistrot Chez Rémy*. The restaurant, which is the only one of its kind across Disney Parks worldwide, is directly adjacent to the attraction and serves the “little chef’s” famous dish, ratatouille.
After Crush’s Coaster, Cars Race Rally and Toy Story Playland, Ratatouille will be the fourth attraction at the Walt Disney Studios Park inspired by a Disney•Pixar film. Disneyland Paris will once again combine its narration skills with state-of-the-art technology to offer the best possible experience.
Next summer, join us for Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy, only at Walt Disney Studios Park, Disneyland Paris.

-------------------------------------

This year, you can experience the ride and restaurant THIS SUMMER and the shop, a little later THIS AUTUMN. And there is even more to look forward to that will continue to be unveiled over time. So this summer, you'll be able to stroll a Parisian street just metres away from being shrunk to the size of a toy, and a few more metres away from riding the East Australian Current. Not bad huh?

All that remains to say in this, the first post of 2014, is a huge Happy New Year!

Disney Art on Demand is just like we dreamed it.

Back in September, as the 20th Anniversary celebrations were coming to an end, Disneyland Paris hosted an event in which some of our friends were invited to named 'What's New, What's Next' aimed at showing the community just some of what is planned after the year and a half long celebration. During that weekend, the resort unveiled Disney Art on Demand. This is a service which allows guests to order prints of pieces of Disney art directly to their front door from a wide selection of pieces of work.
As you walk into the Disney Gallery store in Disney Village, you are confronted with the above wall showcasing the types of art that can be purchased from the touch screen computer. The computer itself is very easy to use and can be used in either French or English.

Upon starting, you are presented with the 'highlights' of categories with options to view more. Categories included photos of Walt Disney, paintings of Disney characters, film stills and film posters, as well as the highly anticipated Attraction poster series. It's very easy to switch from category to category and from page to page within the category.
Art works include the above pictures Mickey drawing, as well as other drawings and paintings already available in the resort; the film stills were largely standard affairs, the selection was good, and is recommendable if you want a collection of those in your house. The vintage film posters are perfect for fans of the Disney films, the Mary Poppins poster is especially good.
Once you have selected your chosen piece of art, you then proceed to select your printing options. Whether it be on paper or canvas, then the size, followed by the option to select a frame (this is not obligatory and is the most costly part of the experience). The cheapest printing option ends up at €17.99 (with a €6 delivery charge).
Once you input your address details, you walk over to the cashier and alert them to the fact you have made an Art on Demand order, they will then retrieve your order and put it through the system and begin the printing process. Orders are given a guideline of a 2-3 week delivery window, although ours turned up at our front door in less than a week. An automated e-mail is sent out to you upon dispatch with a Royal Mail tracking number (orders are printed and dispatched in the United Kingdom using the UK Postal Service: Royal Mail).

The packaging upon arrival was plenty for the item, the print arrives in a thick cardboard tube marked 'Fragile' by tape. Once the tube has been opened, the unframed print that we ordered was wrapped in tissue paper.

The print itself was of an exceptional quality with a large white border. The colours are vibrant meaning this will make a fantastic print to hang on the wall in any home.

In conclusion, Disney Art on Demand at Disneyland Paris allows guests to choose from a wide range of high quality art pieces and get them delivered direct to your front door, the ease of the system makes the ordering process incredibly straightforward. The quality of the print is of a very high standard, meaning that for a reasonable price Disney fans can have beautiful pieces of art adorning their walls. We look forward to seeing how this service grows.

Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy - REVEALED

At last, the news we've all been waiting for. Ratatouille: L'Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy has been named, and the first artwork revealed. The long awaited news came from Disneyland Paris's official news twitter feed @Disney_ParisEN and @Disney_ParisFR. The artwork features an oversized Rémy, Skinner and Linguini an the kitchen that we will be discovering next year. The attraction vehicle has seemingly been confirmed as a rat car (as leaked documents revealed earlier in the year). The information given by the twitter feed was "This world-first attraction will shrink guests to the size of a small rat and plunge them into the heart of a particularly excited...", well that's where it has been left in the English tweet, however the French tweet details that we're plunged into the world of a particularly animated kitchen.

Personally, I think the name needs looking at, for starters 'Toquée' doesn't really translate into English.A 'Toqué' is a Chefs hat, but can also mean 'nutty, zany'. Such puns don't translate in any language. A rough English translation would be 'Ratatouille: Remy's totally crazy adventure'. Secondly, it's length is not marketable, or memorable, European guests tend to shorten 'Cars: Quatre Roues Rallye' to 'Cars', even Big Thunder Mountain becomes 'Le train de la mine'. The lack of ability to translate the title has already been highlighted, using the example 'Cars Quatre Roues Rallye', anglophone guests can guess the meaning, this is likely to cause confusion. We can't wait to see the sign on top of the attraction.

However, this attraction looks fantastic, the themeing continues to be unveiled day by day and looks authentically Parisian, we got our first look of props inside the attraction this week from Disney Magic Interactive which equally look fantastic.  This attraction shows much promise, I look forward to tracing it even further in the future.

2014 Pins revealed! (UPDATED!)

UPDATE 01/01/2014): Despite the  2014 dates, these pins have now mostly been released, for an updated 2014 pin release preview: Click Here
Here at DLP Town Square we are huge pin collectors, and knowing that a large portion of Disney Park fans are pin collectors, we felt we needed to share these new pins! At the Indiana Jones pin trading event yesterday, a few pin sneak peaks were given. Here is what to expect for the rest of 2013 and in 2014. Amongst the big news is that the hugely successful attraction pin series will continue and even extend into lanyards, as well as the 2014 Disney Parks imagery pins.

Good luck bad luck pins
We start with this good luck / bad luck series, 4 pins will be available in this set which started in July 2013 with the Cinderella pin, it seems that this set could continue until October 2013 with one pin per month. The set is a double sided spinner set with one side depicting an element of good luck in a Disney film (such as Cinderella with the fairy godmother) and another side featuring bad luck (such as Aladdin with Jafar). My personal favourite in this set is the Aladdin pin. This really is a classy set that we love!
Attraction 2014 series
Next up is the big news of the event is that the wonderfully designed attraction pins are set to continue into 2014, with the addition (finally!) of an Adventureland pin in the form of Pirates of the Caribbean. We really like this pin, the imagery on these are reasonably 'grown up' and up to present there are not any especially 'adult' pins with a pirates imagery. We then move into the Walt Disney Studios park with another fantastically designed Crush's Coaster pin, the Rock'n'Roller coaster pin looks very much like the one currently on sale. Despite the fact Disneyland Paris has a lot of Tower of Terror pins currently on sale (and most of them very well designed), they have seen fit to release another pin. We are once again fans of this set and cannot wait to add these to our collection!
Princess pins
More princesses! If you like princesses these carriage style pins are beautiful and features the more rarer princesses of Pocahontas and Mulan. It also features the princess branding with Merida, in what is a Disneyland Paris first!
Phantom Manor lanyard
If you are enjoying the current wave of Phantom Manor merchandise, here is yet another to add to your collection. Fans of this classic Disneyland Paris attraction will be wanting to display that Ravenswood Manor wallpaper round their neck with the spooktastic pin collection!
2014 pins
Isn't it crazy that we are already thinking about 2014? Disney Parks across the world usually release various pieces of merchandise with the year visual, Disneyland Paris is no different. I really like the booster set here featuring the year with the various land landmarks, such as the Earful Tower, the Castle, Phantom Manor and Space Mountain. The usual lanyard, Duffy and spinner pins will be released as well. Fans of year merchandise will snap these up. I really like the 2014 visual, however the 2013 visual tops it a little bit in my opinion.
Nightmare before christmas pin
It's 20 years since that familiar 'This is Halloween' song played in our cinemas. This will be celebrated by two rather average open edition pins, however it's that limited edition 20 years pin that has really caught our attention. We love the 20 years visual on the tombstone with Jack peering round the back. Somehow we'll find a way to get this one.
Frozen pins
The next two are a slightly lower quality, but still the visual can be seen. Frozen will be given some open edition releases to tie in with the new film.
Lone Ranger pin
No prizes for guessing when this lone ranger pin will be released. Expect this on the August poster.

Overall, the Disneyland Paris pin trading team continues its form of exceptionally strong pin releases that make for great traders in the parks across the world. Tell us what you think by tweeting us @dlptownsquare or commenting below!

We found these on the Disney Central Plaza forum, and were credited to a facebook user, despite our best efforts, we could not find the images of facebook and so cannot credit the images! Please contact me (info@dlptownsquare.com) if these are your images as we would really like to credit you!

UPDATE 22/07/2013, Even more pin news! Pascal Poullain at the Disneyland Paris Pin Trading and Sales facebook group has uploaded even more future pin releases
Let's carry on with these Chef images, these seem quite a random choice for pin releases, but I actually really like them.
It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of Christmas in Disneyland Paris, and this years visuals look stunning. The open edition pins are Chip and Dale, which looks very nice and a Mickey and Minnie in front of a Christmas tree (not too dissimilar to last years offering). We get our usual lanyard which is a bit busier than last year, but looks nice enough. A Duffy open edition pin, and a Tinkerbell limited edition pin continue the celebration, and our usual booster pack with various characters rounds off this christmas pack.
A small summary of the Duffy pins so far, nothing we've not seen previously here, except the Halloween Duffy which I really do like.
The Disney marketing machine really is in overdrive. We've already seen Frozen and Lone Ranger pins, here is a planes pin....
...and here's a Violetta pin (a new addition to the Disney Channel family according to @plazagardens).
